Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe

Who doesn’t love a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie? This recipe is the perfect balance of crispy edges and a soft, chewy centre – and it only takes a few simple ingredients to make. Let's get started...

Ingredients:

  • 150g unsalted butter, softened
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200g plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 200g chocolate chips

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C for fan ovens) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until the dough comes together.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Place the dough in cling film and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a baking tray, spacing them a couple of inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
